Of course, I do. My blog is in English. My citizenship states that I'm a Malaysian, a former British colony back in the 50's. So there must've been a lot of people speaking in English back then, which should have rubbed off with the locals, which would be us, or in which case, probably our grandparent or great grandparents.
I recalled having a conversation with a colleague, which I happen to have had the chance to know thereof, had asked me which department am I with? Marketing? Sales? "Ahh no... none of those, unfortunately, I'm with ITO or outsourcing." He replied, "Ah well, GCM". "Aha.. " (exacto mundo).
So bla bla bla, we talked about a lot of stuffs, about the company, about what he's doing. And also about what I'm doing. And all of a sudden he asked, "So... I was just wondering... you wouldn't happened to be a local, would you? Are you a Malaysian?" I said, "Yes, I'm local, but to be politically correct, yes and no, I'm from Sarawak." And all of a sudden he said, "Ah... that explains it.." "Huh, that explains what?", I asked him. "Your accent.." he then again replied. Me being a Sarawakian explains that I have an accent, yeah that would make sense. Make what sense. Since when did I have an accent?
